Central Locking Issue

Has anyone had a problem with central locking on a Mk 7 Golf?
I've got a GTI PP and this morning when I go to lock the car, I can hear the mechanism click a few times but the drivers door will not lock. All other doors, boot and fuel door lock. The red light on the drivers door blinks then goes solid, which according to the manual says there is a fault.

It sounds like the drivers door is trying to lock, but something is either out of alignment or there is a faulty sensor.

Hoping someone can shed some light on the problem as the car is just out of warranty.
I'll be pushing to have it fixed under warranty as this is the latest of a heap of issues I've had with this car.

Hey bud. Without doing further diagnosis it's hard to narrow it down accurately. But there is a fair to good chance your drivers door lock actuator could be the culprit. Basically everything will work in terms of solenoid clicking and the door led flashing but I've seen a fair few where one of the microswitches stays open/closed and as such causes your issue.
