  • Engine fault workshop! Randomly flashing up on dash

So wondering if anyone can help me out with this one. Had a warning light show up on my dash a few times now over the past few months but it always just flashes really quickly and disappears, usually so fast i still havn't been able to read what it fully says but i think it is the engine fault workshop! Error as i feel I've seen the !
Whenever it has done it nothing has changed in the way the car drives, and it's flashed and disappeared so quickly i feel it's just a bug? Or could something be tripping it every so often?
Would an error like this stay in memory to use an obd scanner on to find out what it is?

    Yeah, it'll be logged.

Best get it scanned, and work out what needs to be done.

I have a random error that flashes up on the mfd as well, but like yours, it disappears too quickly to read. I also get the ! Symbol when it comes up.

Only happens at the exact moment as I open my drivers door. Not sure if it's just after I remove the key from the ignition, or if I remove the key just after I open the door.

I'll do a vcds scan tonight to see if it's logged.

Thanks would be great to know if it is logged i have been thinking of getting a scanner anyway but will be good to know if its similar. Mine has always just been completely random times always in different conditions. But seems to be more frequently happening so was about time I got it looked at. Would much rather have as much info as i can first though as my nearest dealer is 200km away
