    That'd be great, thanks

Open the drivers sun visor see it it goes away a number of cars had this, faulty spring weighting on the visor which sounded like a rattle behind the dash, just the visor bouncing against the roof lining. If it is the problem a small piece of felt in the visor recess will fix it. These Golf's are so quiet it doesn't take much to hear an extraneous noise.

Thx for the info. Is that a DIY fix? Or dealer fix?

If DIY, could you provide a bit more info? IE what kind of felt and where to place it?

        Thx, much appreciated

Cheers. Ive ruled out anything I can touch/push on without removing panels. Also opened the side access port and taped down wires and applied felt tape between parts. Sounds deeper into the dash.

Sorry Jimny for hijacking your thread

@rossim, I think I have a different issue to you then. It appears your rattle is from the visor, mine is actually the headliner bouncing up and down near the Left Visor anchor of the driver visor. I can actually push my headliner up and see it ride up and down around there.

I think some hijacking is expected when you start a thread on rattles. I've definitely seen your ceiling liner rattle issue before but having trouble finding the thread.

I got the visor rattle too. They are ordering me a new visor, which is not going to change anything since it's a design issue.

They lent me a brand new 2016 TSI while looking at my dash rattle described a few post back, and it's got exactly the same visor rattle as mine has.
