So I discovered tonight (although a Google search shows me this is not new news) that the cruise control doesn't disengage during gear changes (up or down). I have a manual car.
What I also discovered is that it also takes care of cutting and re-engaging the throttle too as soon as the clutch starts to disengage. It did catch me a bit by surprise as I didn't know it did it and it's the opposite of my Mk 5 and Mk6 cars.
This got me thinking about whether VAGCOM could be modified to throttle blip on the downshifts like it does on the DSG. I suspect the answer is no as it never knows if you're shifting up or down until the gear it is in. I just find heel-n-toe in the Mk7 much tricker to do smoothly due to the top-hinged throttle pedal.
Has anyone done this or had similar thoughts?
