  • SD card lost between seat and centre console

After retrieving the dash cam footage from my road trip, I fumbled the mini SD card and it fell between the front passenger seat and centre console.

I've tried getting under the seat from the sides, and front and rear, with seat all the way forward and backward, to no avail. There's a hump at the front and back under the passenger seat, storage drawer at front, and cavity underneath/in between the humps.

This is such a stupid question, I can hardly believe I'm asking it.

Before I start pulling things apart, and probably breaking clips, etc, is there a simple way to get in there?

Other than removing bolts for the seat slider, the only other thing I can think of is a vacuum cleaner, but I'd rather not destroy an $80 memory card if I can help it.

Get a pair of your girlfriends panty hose and cut a foot off them fit it a little bit loosely over the end of the crevice tool of the vaccy so it sucks about an inch up the pipe Tape it solidly around to the pipe so it doesnt suck it up then suck up the card.
It will stop when it hits the obstruction.

Heres me telling you the right way when I had to go through a whole vacuum bag to find the one I did the same with. But then my wife doesnt wear the necessaries LOL

The card wasnt damaged by its trip into the bag though

Thanks. Should I start a new thread to explain to my wife who I got the pantyhose from? [emoji6]

You could check with wife first to see if she has some, save bothering the girlfriend

You can pick up a new Kingston 64GB card for about $30..alot easier than explaining to your wife about the panty hose in the back seat.

I would seriously doubt one at that price is a genuine one and you need at least a class 10 to be any good

Unfortunately this dash cam is a bit picky about the SD cards it uses.

I've got some leftover fly screen from when I redid some windows. I'm figuring it'll do the same thing as the pantyhose, once I have a spare moment to do something about it.

hmm, how about a long stick with some double sided tape? depends where it is, sometime you can push it down with a folded piece of paper or a stick then collected under the rail.

Yeah, which brand is your Dash cam? We have a HP and it is happy with a few brand of card that we put in it.

Blackvue. Even on their website they admit their cameras don't do well with particular brands and specs.

Strange I have 3 Blackvues. My Bil has one, My neighbour has 2 and we dont have any trouble with any of the brands I have mentioned

ATM my DR500GW is running a fast Sandisk Ultra 128GB and previously had a Sandisk 64 gb Class 10 and prev to that had a Samsung 32gb class 10 .. Not too bad for cameras that are only supposed to run only up to 32Gb cards

I did have trouble when I foolishly bought a cheap Samsung supposedly 64 Gb card off Gumtree and it proved to be a doctored 8gb fake. Apart from that havent had troubles. Even lent the cards to my kids to use in their cameras on a recent overseas trip. No problems there. One of the Blackvue cards I got wasnt too flash though.

That's good to know, might upgrade mine, still running the original card because I didn't think the bigger card would work.
