The new DQ381 and Exhaust combo make it a hell of a better car. The older MK7 was an inferior car by comparison.

I wouldn't give up all hope on getting a Wolfsburg wagon - If there is quite a long delay in delivery then some people may drop out (bought something else, circumstances change, get fed up with the long wait) and "their" car may become available.

Question for anyone who has collected their MK7.5:

Picked up my Wolfsburg Golf R Wagon in White today, I couldn't help but notice the absence of a proper battery cover. It's just a wrap around job. No lid on top bag or plastic housing.

Anyone else seen this?

is there any chance you could upload some photos. Particularly of the wheels and car as I'm not sure if I like the grey and white. Also if the carbon looking seats and the cargo compartment. That would be awesome

A long month has passed since my pup arrived prematurely at the dealership. Imagine ordering the wolf cub in March and expecting delivery in December as planned....tomorrow is the day when my 40th birthday present gets picked up.

Well to try and ease my pain the dealership I ordered through gave me the vw experience driving day which is on tomorrow in Adelaide.

You'll love it. I did it at Phillip Island last month and it is an awesome experience with some very good talent providing the guidance - Steve Pizzati, Steven Johnson, Nathan Pretty etc. For me it was $400 well spent, especially getting to drive hot laps of the Island at the end in both the GTI and the R

I just had a look - can't believe there are still 7 spots left for the weekend.

Having checked the WWL shipping site at least 8 times a day for the last 10 days, I now have confirmation that my car (white wagon w/roof) is on the Morning Crystal just off the coast of Belgium. Due at Port Kembla on Oct 28 - about a month earlier than I had expected. This wait has been killing me. I suspect I will now be checking marinetraffic.com at least 20 times a day to see if that makes the ship go faster.

When did you get the Build Week and Vin? And how long before it was on the ship?

Never got given a build date. Got the VIN on September 8, and was told the car was on the water then. Turned out to be a little fib from dealer - ship left Bremerhaven on Tuesday.

Yeah, I did the Drive Day a few years ago (just as the Mk6 R was launched). Hot laps with James Brock in the R led me to buying my Mk7 R!

So... it’s happened once and now twice. First order was to be here in Nov, cancelled it when delivery was estimated in April, second order was made based on delivery late Dec...

Your Commission Number XXXXX is still at "ordered" status which means that it is pending to be built. The scheduled built week for now is late Jan 2018 with ETA to the country late March 2018.

We are working closely with the factory to get more Golf R Wolfsburg built. Due to the restrictions on certain components of Golf R, this is the best estimate we have at the moment.”
