That link has been there for quite some time (at least since before May of this year).Originally posted by Ralfi View PostThe configuration works now.

I changed-over from an MY15 to MY16 today.
Knew it was going to cost me (although less than expected, & bonus black/white slimlines due to dealer error helped), but after what I've seen with the new Infotainment system & Bi-Xenons & Keyless entry, I'm not feeling any kind of regret.
I now have the car I wanted all along.MY16 MK7 Golf GTI

MY16 GTi PP
I negotiated to pay $48300 for MY16 GTi PP with Black Pearl, due to arrive mid October. Hope its worth the wait!Originally posted by gwaipor View PostHow much should I expect to negotiate for drive away price for MY16 GTI DSG, without any additional features other than the included MY16 goodies?

Gotto say, my order of preference of the MY16 changes to the GTI was MIB II (App Connect) & then daylight before the Bi-Xenons, & finally Keyless Entry.
After making use of them for a couple of weeks, MIB II is still #1, but I now appreciate Keyless Entry much more & am loving the brighter Bi-Xenons.
Trifecta of very handy features I now can't do without from here on in..MY16 MK7 Golf GTI

I'm not stalking you, I promise. Can you shed some light on the keyless entry? Is it the "completely key free, leave keys in pockets" type of keyless, or do we still need to put the key somewhere once we're in the car?Originally posted by Ralfi View Post...but I now appreciate Keyless Entry much more & am loving the brighter Bi-Xenons.2016 GTI Performance | Pure White | JB1 | Dog Bone | Full Tint | Stop/Start Delete | Avatar by sandwg

Lol. I don't mind man. Good to have another fellow newbie owner to help out.Originally posted by mattaus View PostI'm not stalking you, I promise. Can you shed some light on the keyless entry? It's utterly key-free. No need to plug it it anywhere....
& of course, when I went to drive it out of the dealership, I flicked out the key & went to insert it....
(The MY15 I had, had a scratch around the key hole on the steering wheel which was already there...so I was glad to look at my scratch-free MY16 steering column, & not follow through with my key to prevent scratching this one...)..
Actually taught the sales girl a nifty feature of the keyless system (which is probably common knowledge for many) that the boot won't lock with the key inside - the indicator lights will flash 4 times to let you know that the auto-boot lock didn't engage due to the key being forgotten in the boot.
Same with the key being left in the cabin - can't lock the car by touching the dimple on the door handle as it detects the key inside.
Smart!MY16 MK7 Golf GTI

Completely keyless. There door handle is touch sensitive, when touched by someone with a key in their pocket the car unlocks, to lock the car you touch the outside of the handle. Once inside you just press the start button and you're away, my key has never left my pocket.Originally posted by mattaus View PostI'm not stalking you, I promise. Excellent! That's what I was hoping for. Just need to make sure my Mrs gets the message. My current car has remote locking (so no need for keys to go anywhere near the door handles) and yet it's still scratched to hell and backOriginally posted by Ralfi View PostIt's utterly key-free. That is a really good idea. Never even thought about that actually.Originally posted by Ralfi View PostActually taught the sales girl a nifty feature of the keyless system (which is probably common knowledge for many) that the boot won't lock with the key inside - the indicator lights will flash 4 times to let you know that the auto-boot lock didn't engage due to the key being forgotten in the boot. Any idea what the range is on these keys? 1m or so, or much more? I imagine you don't have to be physically touching the key for the handle touch to work, so I'd be concerned if I had the keys inside my house, but close enough for the car to still be unlocked. Someone could just jump right in. Of course would the car cut out once out of range though? Or maybe given the smarts Ralfi mentioned above, the car won't start unless the key is in the cabin? But then what happens if I jump out of the car and leave it running while I quickly dash inside the house or something?Originally posted by HPSOV View PostCompletely keyless. I have way too many questions...
If it's a diesel, I'm afraid to say it's highly likely that it will include that issue. Whether it's acted on here in Australia is another issue. I've not read too deeply into it, but it'll be interesting to see if VW put a sale's halt on impacted cars locally like they have done in the US.Originally posted by lambertia View PostHoping that MY16 changes don't include cheating the emissions testing.
