If it's tyres, you might have to put up with it until they wear out, and opt for a different tread pattern. Otherwise, you'll have to chase the tyre manufacturer for warranty.
Gonna rotate the wheels tomorrow so fingers crossed. Was thinking of putting it in the left rear side as it's further away in case VW decide not to fix it
Update, put the front left wheel to the back and guess what, the sound has moved to the back but it's a little softer probably due to being further away? Still hums at the same speed. VW might actually be correct about the tyres being at fault. Anybody had tyres changed under warranty?
That's really odd. Are these the tyres that the car was delivered with? If so, surely you'd hear more about this? Maybe you do have freakishly good hearing!

Not sure if wear and tear after 3500kms could be used as an argument. Alignment been checked too and been ruled out.
I'm just putting forward what the dealership stance on tyres usually is.
There are very few people working in dealerships that have a clue about tyres. Generally they can't see the problem as you need a keen eye & a lot of experience.
It's not unknown for a faulty batch of tyres to be delivered to the factory.

I really hate that expression & would love to see the figures. 80% of wheel alignment guys are operators, not technicians. They don't know the theory behind what they are doing and blindly set the vehicles up with their main priority being to get the gauges into the green zone. They are basically playing a video game.

Just a quick update.....Took the car into Jax (closest Pirelli dealer) and they reckon the noise is from the tyre. Saying that, they also think it's got some mild bumps which I couldn't feel and is from misalignment.
My car has had it's alignment redone during this time by Rick's at Bowen Hills who are supposed to be the best in the business so I'm hoping the tyre wears evenly and noise goes away but I'm now at over 5000kms and it's still there but slightly improved.
My Pirelli's (P7) also developed a rumble - independent VW/Skoda specialist says its related to the geometry of the rear (of my Skoda Superb 4x4) and some tyres are more prone to it than others
