If it is going from Brisbane to Melbourne by rail I'd plan on doing an extra thorough iron de-contamination, railways are notorious for leaving small particles of iron on cars. It's not a big deal, just a normal step in detailing a new car.2017 MY18 Golf R 7.5 Wolfsburg wagon (boring white) delivered 21 Sep 2017, 2008 Octavia vRS wagon 2.0 TFSI 6M (bright yellow), 2006 T5 Transporter van 2.5 TDI 6M (gone but not forgotten).

Oh Well, something to look forward to in the New Year - one of the first things I will be doing is getting it Opti-Coated, I found a place in Launceston that does the process, that should take care of the iron de-contamination (thanks for that advice).

With a 2017 build date i would push for mid forties i think
I got mine early and was the 1st 7.5 alltrack registered so paid full whack to get it quick and was 50k with all options on road i know some others who waited and got another 2kish off the price
So mid forties if you can haggle should not be a issue
Good pick the diesel is a great strong motor with heaps of torque
Plus you will love all the options the panoramic sunroof is great
Adaptive cruise is so good in heavy traffic
I love the digital dash (especially as its the r dash now thanks to obd11)
But the best is the dynaudio system never had a better sound system
Good luck with your purchase

Took the 135 for a test drive yesterday, thought it was a great drive with plenty of torque for easy passing, quite and better than expected ride.
Very impressed indeed. As you say the dash and sound system are brilliant.
