I have a similar gap too on my MY13 90TSI. Service people at Bryan Burt VW said that it wouldn't be an issue. Haven't noticed any water getting in, but interested to know what your dealer says MIRSAD.

I was told same thing - nothing to worry... but fortunately service manager was intrigued so he (after opening boot) started pushing "plastic" in all direction and he fixed it.

It's what VW used to call a "Lemon".
If the answer to the Monty Hall problem was 50/50, the contestant, on average, would win the car 50% of the time simply by sticking with their original guess...but you can only win a one-in-three guessing game 33.33% of the time so it can't be 50/50, can it?

I did try to push the clips back in a while ago, but didn't try very hard. Guess I will have a go again this weekend...
