  • How many keys came with your new Golf Mk7?

...just wondering, as I've heard one couple I know receiving only one key, and some others receiving two.

What seems to be the norm?

If I wasn't given two keys on delivery of a new car there would be words.

        Agreed.
I got 2 with mine when i bought it a few years ago, i believe this is the norm.

I would reccomend you get a spare kay blade off ebay and have it cut to use as a "surf key" as i have used mine numerous times.

Thanks guys, now I know what to expect when I take delivery of mine.

Sounds like the couple I know that received only one key were ripped off...

That's a good idea, I had a (non-electronic) key for an older car and kept it on me for exactly the same reason...

One key ... no way! I'd be checking to make sure there were 4 wheels.

While not VW, we get 3 keys with our company cars.

              Should be two.

If you bought it new, and only received one, go back and kick up a fuss.

If they've somehow lost your other key, demand a complete new lock and key set.

The security of your new car should not be compromised by someone else's incompetence.

Certainly makes sense (for company cars)! I got three with a new Corolla years ago, two transponders and a basic one.

I asked and they said their new Golf was actually ex-demo, and that the dealer said the other key was lost. I think I would have pushed for a new spare to be cut/programmed as part of the sale...
