    Hey All

In my Mk6, I purchased a switch that went in the place of one of the blanks, and wired it up to a spare garage remote. Was a bit of a wow factor, but also very convenient.. Now I've upgraded to a Mk7, I'm thinking I'd like to do the same.

For my Mk6, I simply got an oem switch that was meant for disabling parking sensors, although if these were available at the time, I would have got one of these:
    CarStyle4you

I've emailed CarStyle4You to see if they are planning on doing Mk7 switches, but that might be a while off. Does anyone know how I could find part numbers for genuine switches?

    Thanks!

    Hello kbuvw,

I recall the installation procedure sometime ago on a thread, were you the one that posted it?
I would be interested to hear how you went sourcing switch as I would like to do for my car.
Looking to update to 110 soon.
    Thanks Ecka

      Hi Ecka

Nah, I didn't post it myself - I did read about it on one forum (I think it was golfmk6.com but can't recall). They posted the part number (1k0 927 122 A REH) and I just contacted my dealer who got it for me.

Cost around $50 delivered - but it's of no use to me now as I've sold my Mk6. (if anyone wants it, happy to stick it in the mail)

I do like the ones from CarStyle4you - more appropriate wording:

      Cheers

Me too - if they do offer Mk7 versions, I think I'd get one of those and use it for the garage.. Actually, I have a one remote for work and one for home, so I may as well have two buttons.. A passenger eject and an oil slick should do!

Are you looking to do the same?

So it looks like each bank is grouped together - hard to see if the bank you've linked to has a switch in the third position or just the blank plate again. My guess is that because they have a slightly cheaper one (20eur) with just PDC, and the 26eur one is PDC and PLA, that neither have a switch in that third position..

Might just have to be patient and wait for something to come out..

Or alternatively, maybe I should try and pull the existing bank out, and compare the underlying switch with the Mk6 switch - perhaps they're the same....

I ordered one of these, and it arrived today.. It's a bank of 3, but only two switches (same as the car).. trying to work out if I can pull it apart and modify the top one (which is a blank) to insert a switch below.. At least if I hack this one apart, I'm not risking damage to the one in my car!

(they're definitely different switches to the mk6)
