Model Year 2014 (MY14) Changes

Hi,

I currently have a 90 TSI DSG Comfortline with Driver Assist package on order (since May actually) but due to errors by the dealership in ordering, it is now scheduled to arrive mid to late October.

Now, they have said that this will be a model year 14 vehicle, but didn't have any information on what that would mean.

What I am wondering is if anyone else is waiting for a MY14 vehicle, and what they have heard of what will change.

just received my 110 TDI Highline. It's was built in June 2013, but its is classed as a MY14 i.e. 2014 model, built in 2013. From what I can see there is nothing obvious in the options or levels of equipment that is different. The differences may be under the covers, e.g. Firmware for Sat Nav, driver assist etc.

hey mate , i've got a comfortline on order that will be a 2014 plate , ment to be here on the 20th of September , they have said it doesn't come with the reversing camera anymore , not sure if you get this with the driver assist package ?....

Mine is June 2013 build and classified as MY14. I have the reversing camera.

a friend of a friend just bought one as well. They offered him either to wait for a 90TSI Comfortline DSG WITH the standard reversing camera or if he wants to speed up his order, they could get him one without a camera at a discount of $1000 off the retail price. As he is not fussed about the camera he took the deal. The car still has front and rear sensors. He had to sign on the contract that he took one without camera and got the $1000 discount. He will pick up the car next week and from the $1000 he is taking his wife on a long weekend.

I hope you got the $1000 discount as well.

Hmm interesting , the dealer told me that they had stopped and the only way to get one was via the satnav package ( if I remember ) , we never got a $1000 discount but I bargained pretty hard with them so they probably didn't want to give me anything more ha ha ...

It's no biggy as long as it has the sensors for my wife , if worse comes to worse ill get an aftermarket one installed

Model Year 2014 Golf TSI features

I have a TDI Highline an it won't be here till January so it will be a MY14 for sure. I hope the reversing camera will still be standard on the Highline range... Other wise not happy Jan

I have a comfortline on order too due for arrival in November. I just got off the phone with my dealer, he said mine will have the reversing camera and it's just the DSG model that won't for some odd reason (I'm getting a manual). Whether that's true or not who knows.

wow lol we are getting the dsg , maybe its vw being picking with the product ... dsg or camera cant have both for the price hahaha

I would like to correct this.

When one says "plated" in the industry it refers to compliance plates. Your car will be MY14 because it was built from May 2013 onwards but will have 2013 compliance plates because it will be complianced by Australia in 2013.

When you sell your car it will be classified as a 2013 car even though it's MY14. You rego will also say 2013.

Funny you should mention that. I ordered my Comfortline with DA pack and they had to look to find one with a reversing camera. They said that not shipping with them BUT I got the impression it was temporary as they offered me $1000 discount if they couldn't find one with a camera. My build was June 2013.

All Highlines get the RVC, only the Comfortlines have some without due to RVC shortages.
