Best Price for Golf MK VII (Australia)

Sounds like you've all done pretty well. I payed $38800 for a TDI highline with driver assist, sunroof and euro plates back in may. Won't arrive to late oct. I think It worked out to about $3200 off. I thought I did ok until I saw the recent price. Saying that though, if I ordered the same car now I may not take delivery until Xmas.

Volksfest price only covers cars in stock and delivered before the end of october, so a factory order wouldn't apply anyway

I was however stunned to realise VW's don't include car mats as standard. I didn't notice until long after I'd left the dealership due to my "new car" excitement. Anyways I STRONGLY STRONGLY recommend checking out these plast rubber Golf mats from the UK.

They are about 110 AUD equivalent to buy and made by um... Hi-Tech or something like that. Just search for GolfMK7 car mats or variations of that. The ones you want have GOLF embossed into the plastic and have fixators that clip them into the floor holds on teh GOLF perfectly.

These mats are absolutely the bomb 100%

Different dealers must do things differently - just picked up my 103TSI and they come as standard.

Funnily enough, I ordered some online a couple of weeks ago, and then thought I'd check with my dealer, who told me that they come standard, and I was able to cancel my online order

(Dealer is Ossy Park VW in Perth)

                  Hi all

From memory I think mats come as standard on top of the line petrol model and on the diesel. It's written in the specs if you have look at golf brochure at the back.

Also the brochure states that all models come with sunglasses holder on the roof. But my base model does not have this.

                  Cheers

Has anyone traded a mk6 on a mk7? I'm considering trading in my MY11 103tdi golf but the salesman suggested they would only give me at max 15k. Not bad for a car that was at the 40k mark under 3 years ago!

Yeah, I traded in my 2009 mk6 118tsi (manual, under 40000 km). I was originally planning on selling privately, but got offered $14,500 (on top of a good price on the new one), so I was pretty happy with that.. I've never traded in a car before (always sold privately), but handover was so easy - drove in with the old car (with the fuel light on), and drove out half an hour later with the new car..

I didn't intend to leave it with so little fuel, just worked out that way - was pretty funny though!

Ouch that trade in is seriously depressing! I reckon the TDI would be very sellable for the dealer, what is the bet it will have a tag of $23,990 on it once they detail it.
Edit2 the 118 TSI perhaps not so saleable, despite the awesome twin charge concept and not so awesome piston& ring failures.

Do you mean you are happy that your less than 3 year old mk6 has only managed a retained value of about 38%? Shouldn't it be around 65%?

Yeah, I figured that I paid under $30k for it, so $14.5k after 4 years is pretty good.. Was a great car, never gave me any issues, but time for an upgrade.

Not happy at all. <-- I should have used this face in my first post.
                              Talk about horrific resale!

                                Best Price for MK7 103TSI?

                                Hey all,
the passat my family bought last July is fantastic, avg 8.5L/100km over 100k mainly in suburban trips.
Beside it asked for engine oil only after 9 months.

looking forward to get a 103TSI with all options except alarm.(RRP ~$45,000)
anyone would like to share their drive away price and experience during the negotiation?
should i get the best price for the car first, and then the options? or get the price as one?

                                I've seen people saying
order mine on 25/5 golf mk7 highline with all the options except the alarm for 38,500 with full tank, floor matt, boot liner.
                                (ref: http://whrl.pl/RdCEmM)
not sure if its true but sounds crazy, RRP would be around $45,000.
also the volksfest doesnt show much discount for the 103TSI model $35,490, $35,990 for the TDI but there is a $2,500 difference between RRPs.

                                Thanks in advance,
                                Al
