Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Ordered a 103-TSI today, decided not to go with the bi-xenon lights due to the long wait time (sept). Got driver assistance though. Tungsten Silver colour (seem to work much better with the interior colours). Picked it up for under 34k. Getting it in a few weeks.
I don't know why some of you guys are complaining about the gloss black... If your worried about smudging then your obviously very pedantic about getting any dirt on the paint! God forbid you drive it on a dusty road you pansy's!
ps - drove the TDI aswell, the extra torque was great to feel - however the car seemed very boggy compared to the TSI. Didn't rate it. Unless your gonna do huge kms then I don't really see the point paying the extra for something that's not that crash hot.Last edited by waxdass; 11-05-2013, 01:59 AM.

You said that you went for the TDI option, was that 1.6l or 2.0l and was it Comfortline or Highline ?
I just visited one dealer so far, Austral in Newstead in the city, I'm looking to shop around, who did you purchase from ?Golf MK7 | 110 TDI | DSG | Highline |Limestone Grey | 'Rotary' Wheels | Driver Assist

Just a note out there to buyers, try and wait a bit before you order your Golfs, the first batch sent from Zwickau isn't of great quality, we have some of the first RHD ones... Try and get the ones built after Feb 2013... They had about 61 behind the scenes updates...AUTOBLOGAUSTRALIA : http://autoblogaustralia.blogspot.com.au

FIgures, any idea on what some of those improvements were?

I know two of them, they managed to stick in my mind. First one is regarding the structures behind the dashboard, near the steering column where they added an extra cross-brace member and the other one was regarding the primer used, apparently the Golf now has something like 8 coats of paint/primer whereas the 2012 models had just 6. The rest were to do with poor fitting door seals I think! I'll try and find the document and upload it...AUTOBLOGAUSTRALIA : http://autoblogaustralia.blogspot.com.au

Was out today doing some serious tyre kicking and took a drive in the new 103TSI and I was impressed. It feels like a whole new car from the inside. I did notice a few Dec 12 builds, will be avoiding these.
I was reasonably impressed with the first price offered. Standard kit plus paint for $33K drive away. Tossing up a couple of colour options with the dealer able to provide both within the next few weeks.
