Just wondering if there have been any rumours or info yet re. the 2017 Golf range? Specifically whether they will feature the new 1.5 TSI engine.

Probably a bit early yet, as the 2016 model info wasn't released until start of July 2015.

Yes. I paid $37k 3 years ago for a new TDI Highline in Pacific Blue. Powerful little car and very efficient.

Hello!

I'm about to buy my first brand new car and have chosen the Golf Comfortline and was wondering where i should start with negotiations and if anyone could help?

I want the Metallic Paint so thats an extra $500 and all together it brings the cost to $30,515.

Am i better to get them to throw things in? (rego, boot liner, floor mats ect) or try to get a lower price?

VW Golf 92 TSI Comfortline Negotiation

Lower price. Start from the base price, make a low ball offer and aim to meet at around 10% off. So I'd ask for 3k less on base price.

Once you agree on that price, then add extras on. You can also ask for free carpet etc on top.

Trick is be confident and be prepared to walk.

You will have to do the dance a few times.

Definitely be prepared to walk. I've walked away twice and threatened it twice. It always works, especially if it's the last week of the month.

Know your target price and your inclusions before you go in. Be decisive; if you are hesitant they will have the upper hand.

If you have your partner or a mate with you, you can walk off and 'discuss' it and give you some breathing space to collect your thoughts.
