Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Because the new engine is just so good & efficient out of the box, there is not quite as many gains from intake / exhaust and even race gas.

    There are gains, but just not as big as on cars where the stock components are lacking (Mk6 Golf R intake for example).

        Transformed car!!! Holy crap. Fastest car I've ever driven. LAUNCH in the dry is essentially the G-force ride in dreamworld.... Still driving it and getting the feel for it.

              Has your oil temperature increased? i.e. the readout you get from Driving Info I am pretty sure it is called.
              If you happen to have any sort of OBD/Torque interface interested to know what the boost has been increased too.

                I would anticipate lower engine oil temp, but higher turbo temp. Thats a guess though.

                      Oil temp has pretty much remained the same. That is comparing hard driving while stock and hard driving after tune.
                      Don't have boost readout unfortunately.

                        Thanks mate, the highest I have seen stock boost is ~17psi.

                        Does anyone have any info on what stock actually runs?

                          Which tuning company did you end up getting? Did the characteristics of the Driving Mode change? If so, in what way please?

                                Mine peaks at just over 20psi in third gear pull and tapers off back to 18-19psi. boost tap and gauge hooked up from manifold
