Dashcam issues

Hi
Considering a dash cam installation on a 2018 Golf R 7.5. Bit of chatter on one of the UK VW sites of the BlackVue causing battery drain in 7.5 Golf Rs, if car not driven regularly. I appreciate could be due to other factors eg using Trackers or ? dodgy installations, but wondering if anyone on here with similar issues with Blackvue in Golf 7.5s or with late model VWs??

I have a DR750 in my 9N3 GTI, you dont need the black magic pro to monitor battery voltage on these, as far as I have worked out. No dramas with flat batteries so far and mine is smaller than stock. It's on all the time, day and night.

Which 750 do you have because the 750S of which I have 2 do NOT have the cutoff regulator in it
The correct way to wire the older ones is to a ACC fuse with a fuse tap and it will then only operate when the ignition is on. The newer X series does have this ability built in and worked via the app
I have installed BV cameras for last 10 years and always done it to fuses as is most reliable and tidy way of doing it. Have done a Passat wagon 2 separate cameras a Polo 1Ch with a 590. a Tiguan with two separate 750S cameras. lastly a Kamiq with a 750S. Have 2 spare Power magics lying around as dont bother with parking mode. I always run the rear camera feed along the floor so the side airbags dont catch it if they go off, Something few remember about There is a good instruction set here AutoInstruct | The Home of Automotive Guides and Products and go to MK7 /guides I use a ciggy socket I put in the wiring from the fuse tap and plug the original plug and wiring in as that has a 2 amp fuse built in so no other one needed.
