Hello everyone. First of all, I would like to thank you for posting so much valuable
information regarding to engine swap .

I read everything very carefully and I am glad that there is hope for a solution to my problem that you were struggling with.

I am also a recent owner of a mk7 variant 1.4 tsi caxa.

unfortunately the engine seems to be in a tragic situation the oil consumption has drastically increased from month to month from one liter per 1000 now it is two liters..
overall a tragedy, a cloud of smoke behind me .. I would like to fix it as best as I can and a general engine overhaul was supposed to be involved.the cost is high, of course, but I want to drive this car for a dozen or so years.. I like this Golf.. but when it comes to repairs, it is a temporary repair for a maximum of 100-150 thousand km and the problem returns.. that's what the mechanics assure me about this engine..

I was already thinking about selling the car... when I was desperately looking for a solution and came across this post

I am not a mechanic, I would like to take the car to a workshop to replace the engine, as in this post, I would like to switch from cxsa to czca and do everything to make the mechanic's life easier and speed up the engine replacement. According to what I have read, there is a lot of information here and it is hard for me to organize it, especially since I am just learning English :d

I would like to make sure what parts to look for, exactly what fits, what doesn't, so that the engine replacement goes smoothly.

information about the car from the service book version itd..

As for the engine, I can also look for an Audi Seat Skoda czca, are they the same units? As for the ecu, I have an older med 17.5.21 and I need a new med 17.5.25 and this one has to be from a Volkswagen, no matter what model? Is it best to look for an engine + ecu + engine harness from one car of course, however, available at this moment are younger engines with lower mileage, e.g. from Seat or Audi.

can I buy an engine from a seat czcz and a separate ecu from volkswagen or is it better to look for a whole set from one car.. and as for the engine harness does it matter from which car and with what equipment? are they all the same or do they differ, e.g. one car has xeon lights the other halogen..

I know that I have to buy an engine, ecu and engine harness , this is everything? Does the gearbox fit or are there other problems? I know there is a problem with the radiator fan, i have to move the cables in the plug, if I understand correctly, this should be done on engine harness from czca .

I'm Sorry for so many questions I don't want to make a mistake when buying parts. I hope someone can help me with buying parts. Thank you and greetings to the owners who went through the swamp. This is my first swamp and I can't handle it myself so I'm asking for help. I asked in many workshops but they didn't do this swap I have to bring the engine ECU harness if it fits then I'll put it together and it will work .

      Best Regards Peter

        Hi Peter,

Not all workshops will be willing to do the swap, as they don't want to deal with the recoding and adaptations needed to make it work.
I see that you're in Sydney, and Volks Mechanical can handle it for you. They’re crazy enough to do this kind of work, as well as other challenging swaps (like the DQ200 to DQ250 conversion in a certain wagon on this forum—spoiler alert). Rami and Tee will get everything sorted for you.

Another option is to source everything from wreckers to keep costs down. You’ll need the following:

        • CZCA engine (92TSI) with the CZCA harness. The CZDA (110TSI) can also be used with the CZDA harness. These engines can be found in Mk7.5 Golfs, Tiguan 1.4s from 2017 onwards, and Audi A1, A3, and Q3 models (Rami and Tee can also make the more powerful CZDA engine work).
        • MED17.5.25 ECU from a VW, which is strongly advised as Audi uses a different IMMO scheme in their cars.

If you can get all three from the same car, that would be ideal. The good news is that you can find low KMs engines at good prices. Once you have everything, you'll need someone to swap the engines, and Rami or Tee to code it all properly.

Give them a call to discuss your options and costs.

        Hope that helps!

        Guto.

Hi , Guto. Thank You for your valuable advice.unfortunately I am not in Sydney. I added one of the Australian cities to be able to register on the forum, but from what I see it is unnecessary. Sorry for misleading you.however I am trying to contact Volks mechanical. You are talking about adaptations, so are other adaptation procedures needed when it comes to the immobilizer? (adapting the counter etc.) I suspect that then the car must be physically in the garage to do this? I thought that I only need to download the immo data from my ecu from cxsa and transplant it to the donor ecu from czca. Then maybe I can organize it by sending them these two ecu 's
there is a lot of work involved if it is not possible to arrange it remotely, shipping, I doubt I will find other specialists like you have in Australia. So far I have only found people who can do immo off at my place, but it does not satisfy me, I guess the car will start then, but the shining key from imo on the dashboard would not leave me alone, and in addition, my car might not be in front of my house in the morning after a night. if the idea with ecu does not work, it is also possible to replace the timing cassette, but is it really compatible with cxsa, or has anyone replaced it? Here, mechanics say that there may be other, not only the hpfp valve, but other millimeter differences in the shafts in the valve cover... tomorrow I will try to contact them from volks mechanical, the time zone makes it much more difficult for me xd

          Greetings, Peter
