Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • First Suspension Upgrade - Mk7 Golf R Facelift

Just pulled the trigger on my first suspension upgrade for the Golf R. The car is driven pretty hard on track days and on the road. To flatten out the rear and reduce the understeer, I am upgrading the rear sway bar from the OEM to the SuperPro adjustable heavy duty rear sway bar.

Next steps will be either Bilstein B6 Damptronic shocks or the Bilstein B16 Damptronic Coilovers then a tyre upgrade, most likely the Bridgestone RE71RS rubber.

I'm planning to get this done whilst we are in lock down in Melbourne. Might as well get some benefits from lock down.

    Interested in your feedback

nice, where did you get the SuperPro RSB from? I am eyeing a whiteline one online.

Also I see you're in Melbourne, which track days do you recommend? I've been sussing out Sandown (driver dynamics) and Wodonga, have you taken the R there?
