Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    VW Golf Steering Upgrade

    Hi Everyone!,

    I am looking to upgrade my Golf's steering to the R-line model as shown. Can someone suggest me from where I can buy this steering (with ACC button - circled)?

    Eurocarupgrades costs higher by around 30% with additional installation charges. Ebay only has the model for cars with only cruise control.

    You’ll need the right steering wheel buttons for ACC as well as the round airbag.

    Be careful as some sellers will show the bag but not include it or include just the airbag cover.

    Airbags are tricky to ship as they contain an explosive device. Most times these can’t be airfreight and must come by sea/road and require special packaging.

      Infact I require the one shown in this picture, which is exactly what comes with Golf R or with R-line package.

        Hi Everyone!

        Ordered the Steering, found a lovely seller from UK. Got to know the correct model that fits my car. Seller ships with the airbag and harness. Now busy tracking the courier!

        Meanwhile, I'd ordered the sports pedal which has arrived, need to collect it today.

        I'm also installing the fog lamps (front). All parts have arrived and will schedule an appointment with the service centre once I'm fully armed.

          Yay! Got my steering today! Ordered via ebay from a dealer based out of Europe. It was packed well and shipped through DHL. Arrived as good as new.

          I've now got the OEM sports pedals and fog lamp kits as well; now need to schedule an installation with the workshop.

            Interested in doing this myself.

              It cost me around $1200 including shipping, the installation cost me $150 at German Automasters.

                Yay!!! Got the R-line steering and OEM sports pedals installed. I've also installed the LDS compatible with front fog lights. The wiring harness for the front fogs also arrived today. Now need to schedule the appointment with the workshop.
