The sticker on my windscreen says 180,000 K‘s or at six months which ever comes first. My question is this. How strict is the six-month interval. it’s synthetic oil which is meant to last better than spirit oil. Is a few weeks beyond the date okay or should I be putting it in ASAP?

If its a VW its 15000 or 12 months. Whichever comes first. What is the sticker for engine oil or tranny.
4 weeks over the 12 months isnt out of the way . What have you been doing for the last 150000 or so2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

Maybe they are not the best place to use What oil are they putting in the car. IS it a VW approved oil and correct viscosity or another thing they have just thought would do.2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

NO it isnt its 15000km OR 12 MONTHS WHICHEVER COMES FIRST We are not on long interval servicing in Australia.
My wifes car is 8 years old and last service was the 105k one Car has done 26,000km
The vast majority of Volkswagen vehicles - including the Golf, Tiguan and Amarok - have a service schedule that requires maintenance every 12 months or 15,000km whichever is first.
As an indicator your service indicator in the dash will count down from 365 days till next serviceLast edited by Guest001; 05-10-2019, 03:23 PM.2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

I prefer VW 504/507, but do you have reasons for thinking VW 502/505 is superior for Oz use (with our short oil change intervals) ?
Some discussion here, which also mentions old spec 502/505 vs new spec 502/505:

You can prefer what you like but for petrol VW's the minimum spec oil IS 502/505
Bob the oil guy is in the USA so why are we even looking at his advertorials
Also where did I say it was superior, I said it is able to be used as in SUITABLE for PETROL engines
As per this ad Castrol EDGE Engine Oil - 5W-30, A3/B4, 5 Litre | Supercheap Auto
In fact in my Polo manual it states that is the oil to use
However as I also had a diesel i used Enviro + in bothLast edited by Guest001; 08-10-2019, 04:52 PM.2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B
