Hi all,
I've just picked up a second hand 2015 GTI Performance DSG - my first automatic - and it's a fantastic car, much quicker and more fun (but heaps less efficient) than my old 90tsi. My only concern is that when I slip it into sport mode and floor it, it seems to rev to the limiter (and the acceleration slows down a fair bit). Essentially, on full throttle, it revs up to ~6500-7000RPM, then the revs stop increasing for just a moment before it changes gear (the change itself is fast, just the timing seems off?). It seems to do it from 1st>2nd and (maybe slightly less so) from 2nd>3rd. I've not been fast enough to experience 3rd>4th at open throttle, so can't comment on that. It just concerns me, because if slipped into manual mode, it has no problems (and feels quicker), but I would've imagined the full-auto should be faster than manual mode?
For a bit of context, the car has 61,000km, has had the big service completed by VW, is always fully warmed up when this happens, BUT, the tyres aren't the best (they're new, but Hifly brand, so I'm not sure - could it just be wheelspin causing this?)
Thanks in advance!
