  • Golf R Manual clutch line fluid leak after clutch upgrade

    Hi all,

I upgraded my clutch to a heavy duty clutch masters as I have a stage two ECU remap. Factory clutch was slipping. As part of the upgrade, I installed a CTS clutch line from the gearbox to the swivel. After 10,000kms the CTS line popped out from the swivel and broke the clip. Lucky I had a spare clip. After the fix, something happened again around the 5,00km of driving. As I was on my last clip I replaced the CTS hose for the original factory part. After 3000km the factory hose started to leak from the swivel joint. At this point, I decided to order a new complete clutch line from the factory. Two weeks later it arrived and will be installed sometime next week.

Has anyone experienced this after installing a new upgraded clutch kit? If you did what was your fix? I am also considering getting rid of the swivel for a solid line. Has anyone done this?

Many years ago I owned an air-cooled beetle that snapped clutch cables every year. The fix was much easier and you had a bit of a warning. Good to see some common faults never disappear.

    Cheers.
