Do you use Android Auto or Car Play? If so, you still need to plug it in anyway.
I find it very funny VW released wireless charging without releasing Wireless Car Play at the same time for the latest models.Golf MK7 103TSI Highline Wagon | Limestone Grey | DAP2

Yes, frustrating more so than funny.
Good point about the apple car play and the fact you still need to plug it in.
Guess that makes it pointless unless.
Thanks

Just get a D-Dock
I ordered one and it works great in my mk7.5 Golf R

I heard Apple had asked VW to hold back on the Wireless CarPlay, but VW have had it working for awhile now. BMW and VW were the first to show it off, but only BMW has implemented it.
I usually stick to BT day to day and just use CarPlay for longer trips. Despite the Reminder message, I do forget my phone too often.
End game is wireless CarPlay, wireless charging and the ability to have a map/song into on the cluster while CarPlay is running.2018 Golf GTI DSG (DAP LUX INFO R-TAILS)

Depends where you live. I'm on MNC NSW and drive often to Gold Coast and west towards Moree. I find Apple Maps far better than Google Maps, which is quite inaccurate in country NSW.
The best I've used is Nokia Here maps (now owned by VAG). So I tend to stick with the built in Nav, despite the overly posh voice.2018 Golf GTI DSG (DAP LUX INFO R-TAILS)
