Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Rear light assembly has come loose

The cluster of offside rear lights has come away and is just hanging loose. The plastic cover that goes over the opening keeps the cluster in but I need to secure the cluster back in place. Is this an easy fix?

The whole thing is held in place by a plastic nut that is in the boot behind the carpet. You need small hands to get in and replace/tighten the nut back on to the plastic bolt which is on the back of your light cluster.

I may have described it wrong but the lights I'm referring to are in the hatch not the body. Hope this is clearer.

It's a while since I've owned a Mk 6, but I think they just clip in.

Have to be aligned just right, then it's easy.
