Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Problems with my mk6 gti boost shudder [SOLVED: Coilpack]

That is the best way I can describe it when it first started happening it was at about 2500 revs and the whole car would literally skip revs and jump but now it's down low and when you get up in the revs it is boost cutting I can here and see the revs stopping and the engine light comes on. Please help me
    thanks jake

That's would be nice if I had a scan tool or a mechanic that is open but now I have to wait till Tuesday and I just changed the spark plugs and it's not that

No point replacing parts without error codes, just washing $$ down the drain mate....

Scanned and got Cylinder 1 misfire. swapped coilpack to #4 and cleared code as it had already had some new plugs. Got a miss in #4 as soon as it made any boost. Even at idle the misfire counter was like a stopwatch.

Great work. Always good to have a scanner to see where the actual fault lies, as opposed to replacing parts like they are going out of fashion...
