  • Foot well/ drivers side door rattle while stopped

    Hi Guys,

I have just noticed a loud rattle in the foot well or drivers side door on my 118tsi. The strange thing is that it only happens when the car is stopped, when you start moving it goes away. I'm not sure if I should be too worried or not, until i can get the car checked.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Check for earrings in the door pocket or throw the empty cans out LOL Seriously sounds like something in the door vibrating when car not moving.

Exactly the same problem in my Golf R. After much research I've discovered it's most likely a fuel line issue. Some people have had sucess by injecting expander foam around the line inbetween the brackets they're secured by (so I'm told). I took mine in to have it checked but by the dealership and by the time I got there it had stopped. Usually happens during the colder months and volume increases when "D" mode is selected. I'd say the problem occurs 7 out of ten days during winter and sometimes dissapears after an hour or so.

99% it will be the fuel and evap line rattling in the trunking...can be easy fixed buy adjusting the lines and filling the channel with packing foam from above and under the car via access when the side tray is dropped...VDUB..
