  • Halogen lights - Disable DRL on Golf Mark 6 GTi MY13

    Hi All,

I know this has been covered, but I have attempted the process (engine off, flash high beam - left indicate, wait then turn engine on, wait etc..) and I still continue to have DRL.

Is it different for MY13 GTIs?

Thanks for any input as it is doing my head in.

    Justin

Should be able to do it through the centre MFD under vehicle settings.

Nothing under lights and conv. that I can see. Checking all other menu options nothing jumps out at me either. Happy to be proven wrong.

Perhaps it's because I have Xenons with DRL's..... my option is between "Footwell Light" and "Lane ch. Flash".

Wonder if it is a firmware version issue? Ie my car running the old ECU software?

Can you take a photo of what you see and I'll raise it with VW

Mine is through the MFD. if you can't see it, you can switch DRL off via VAGCOM. I did this for another forum member when installing his new headlights

                      This.
It will probably enable the option to appear in MFD too - That's how I was able to get the Coming Home function enabled (not a standard standard feature on Trendline)

But yeah it's odd how it's not coming up for you.. it should show in the lights menu as dayl. dri. light

I've got a MY13 and the MFD looks the same, no option to turn them off. If I turn the lights from auto to off the DRL's do go off though I'm pretty sure.

                          Nope. They're still on.

Just curious as to why you'd want them off?

They're a good safety feature. Makes your car more visible so people don't pull out in front of you and so on...

Agreed and they must work as are compulsory in some countries.

Could have done with some 10 days ago when an idiot obviously didnt see me in the Polo and drove straight across in front of me.
