Hi all i am looking for advice please i am going to buy a GTI would like to buy a 09model to save a few dollars but i am told it would be better to buy a 2010 onwards reason for buy this model is am told they will have less wheel spin wiht traction control ??? So looking for best value on mods ?? Looking for a tune and a exhaust has any one done some research on this and what do you recommend i am in brisbane any help WOULD BE great thanks Gary

My previous car was a MKV Golf GTI and I loved it, but would recommend MKVI. As for mods, my first option was a tune and you just need to check the "tuning and performance" thread. I'm sure you will come away totally confused, so you need to do your research and go with the tune you that suits your needs.

As for exhaust, I would just do the DP, you'll save a heap and won't miss much gain unless you get radical with other mods. Have fun.

Depending on your budget, you many want to factor in the purchase price plus the mods you would like to do.
Let your right foot govern how much or little wheelspin you have.

Golfs made from 2005-2009 are the Mk5; the Mk6 is 2010 onward. While there are many changes between these, the amount of wheelspin you may get in a straight line is not specifically one of them. For info on the Mk5, see the Mk5 Golf & Jetta forum.
