  • Pricing question

    Hi guys.
I'm after a brand new, stock (no extras) Golf GTI DSG 5 door in carbon steel.
im not sure if im pushing my luck if i offer 42k to a dealer.
i tried using that spreadsheet, but it confused the hell out of me!
Has anyone heard of any deal like that?
    thanks in advance

price is optimistic but not unrealistic. IF you get a 2011 plate, quite possibly.

In my limited experience you'd be lucky to get it for 42.5k. If you can wait until June you might be able to get it in a sale and/or no on-roads sale if they have one.

With no on-roads, they were 42,999 drive away.

Give it a go though. It's an aggressive price but it's still close enough for a keen dealer to sniff at. Good luck.

I am no expert but why buy a Golf GTI now when there is a much improved 2013 Golf GTI model just around the corner , I have purchased a New 2012 POLO GTI , that most likely i will upgrade when the new Golf GTI arrives
              .

I think with the larger discount provided on the Golf V Polo, the differential isn't great. For me, it was like $7k as no discounts were offered on the Polo but a lot on the Golf. That is not a lot more for a car which is a fair bit bigger and more powerful.

So that's completely OT, but regardless, current guestimate is the Mk7 GTI won't arrive in Australia until late 2013. That's at least a good 18 months away.
