Hi folks, I have a question about best practice advice for use of bi-xenon headlights on a MK6 GTI Adidas. I recently purchased this car and love the headlights, the light bending and the DRL. My question is about durability and best practice with regard to the auto setting. The car is parked in a garage and even with the door fully open, when the lights are set to auto they come on when the car is in the garage. At start up they go through their self-levelling process etc but as soon as I reverse the car out of the garage they switch off (during day time, as they should being on auto). When I return to the garage, unless I race in and slam to a stop and switch the engine off, they have enough time to just come on and start to warm up when I'm ready to switch the engine off. My question is, is this behaviour likely to significantly effect the lifespan of the bulbs/ballasts, or shouldn't I be too concerned? I do so much love the auto-on function and would be disappointed to have to go back to switching the lights on manually at night.
