  • Gaps in rear door window seals

I've recently noticed gaps at the top of the rubber seals in the rear door windows - see photos below (where the vertical rubber seal meets the horizontal seal).

I haven't noticed any water leakage or excessive wind noise, just interested to see if there are similar gaps on every single mk6 Golf 5 door or is it just mine which is affected?

MY12 Golf GTI in White - Mine are the same. I wouldn't worry about it as they look totally watertight.

My 2010 Golf is the same. I don't have any problems with it.

Thanks for your comments mythik and Brendan_A, good to know mine is not the only one with these gaps.

I owned a Mk 5 Golf previously and don't think I ever noticed these gaps.

Even though these gaps don't cause any water leakage / noise problems, have to say I am quite surprised to see gaps on a "well designed and well built" vehicle from Germany.

I've been taking note of window seals on various cars in the office carpark since I first noticed the gaps on my Golf, and I have yet to find similar gaps on any car.
