Welcome Kit - does it exist - what's in it?

Hey Guys,

Picked up my demo (not driven) GTI 2 weeks ago, questions:

1) I've heard references to some "welcome kit" from VW.. does this exist / whats in it?
if it exists..
2) Will I recieve one having bought a "demo"

All I've ever received from them with both our cars is a letter and the road side assist card. And yes you should receive it too.

It even had my name on that box!! *GAASSPPPP*

Oh and I got like 3-4 different "follow-up" letters from VW after my purchase.. Some are useful info and some are just wasting trees.

Would be nice if they spelt your name correctly. It was correct on the contract of sale.

I spent more time playing with the box. The box gives you the impression that there might be something special inside. Oh well!!

Do you guys get signed up to the VW magazine as well? 8 months on, I haven't gotten a single issue, whereas my brother who previously owned a VW still gets them!

It must be something the dealers need to do in order to get you on the mailing list - for a while I was getting 4 copies each month having bought a New Beetle, Touareg, Caddy and Golf all from different VW dealers. Took some time for VW to combine all those customer records into one account.

got my welcome kit 8 months after purchase... they must sell a lot of them to be that far behind/lazy...

If you bought a GTI Pirelli or Adidas, you got a special key ring as part of the pack.

I managed to buy a GTI Pirelli keyring from the dealer, which tells me some owners never got theirs.....

I received the summer issue about 4 months ago.. Not sure how often they come out.. Seasonal maybe?
