Volkswagon Golf MK6, Roof Racks, Rhino Aero 2500, Roof Rack, DIY | eBay

just was looking at getting them instead of the pro racks because ive allready got some kayak carriers that should fit them

People have purchased and discussed various roof rack products in the What Accessories are you buying for your MK6 Golf? thread, although I'm not sure if any are specifically the Rhino brand.

Additionally, you me also search the MKV Golf forum, as the roof is the same...

well im trying to find people who have actually bought them. I found a lot of information and good reviews on the Pro rack ones, but as i dont want to spend another $160 on kayak holders it will save me a lot to use the rhino ones.
I just wanted to know if they fit okay, dont move, and are not tooo high as ive seen the standard ones look pretty high
do the fronts bolt on using the rail hole in the drivers door?

Mine fit really well, and I carry a Kayak on them. If you follow the fitting instructions, they dont use the holes.

They are padded though, and grip really well, but I am still probably going to get some kayak holders.

They sit ok height wise on the roof.

I have these on my Mk4 and I wish I had got Thule instead.
The are marketed as low noise but are really noisy the whistle/whine is noticeable with windows down or sunroof open from about 50km/h.

The legs don't sit nicely either, there is a big gap from the end of the cover and the roof, you can see a lot of the guts of the mounts.
They may sit better on a MK6.

Mine sit really well, no issue on that.

I will agree with the noise though, they are very noisy above 50km/h. Sounds like a car is creeping up on you from behind....

I only put them on when I am taking the yak out, and take them off when back home and all done.

                thanks everyone for the replies
I think i might actually get the rhino ones still. I was unhappy with Rolla ones on my old commodore, left massive scratches in the roof.
Ive been looking up reviews on the net, and unfortunately I found too many people bagging out the prorack roof racks,
Ill only be putting them on the car on the weekends to take the kayak out

                      Just an update to this
I bought the Rhino racks and am going to return them.
they are definatly good racks, but the brackets are not designed for the car at all.
I guess some people are happy to screw them down hard to get a good fit, but im not prepared to damage the roof of a $30k car with a $300 part
