    True. But like Alok said it wasn't the flash tune that was causing the problem. Most of the cars were stock.

      Yeah the 118TSI is cheaper... but you miss out on the following;

      - RCD510
      - 17" wheels std
      - 312mm brakes
      - GTI suspension
      - GTI interior.

      It would be easier for you to take a GTI, and swap the grille to a 118TSI version, and if you hate the tartan, get leather.

        Why would you swap the grill? The red stripe grill looks the goods!

          I agree, the red stripe looks awesome! However, the OP wanted a 'sleeper'. I'm sure there would be plenty of people with 118TSI's who would be happy to swap their grill for a GTI one

            Don't buy a tornado red GTI, and they're sleepers anyway.
            Even the Golf R in Reflex Silver is boring as bat-**** and is a sleeper.

            But as I always say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that

              A Hyundai Excel, now that's a sleeper!

                A sleeper is a car that doesn't look fast but is. I don't think golf GTI or R are sleepers. Even if they look boring to some people, when you look at it you can tell that they are performance vehicles.

                The Excel looks like it wont get anywhere quick. And it actually doesn't. So it doesn't qualify as a sleeper either

                  Well... if you don't notice something because it's so boring, then it's not attracting attention, then it's a sleeper.

                  Generally looking at any car close enough can reveal whether it's fast or not.
