  • MK5 Golf parcel shelf in MK6

    Hi All,

I got direct here from whirlpool.

I need a new parcel shelf for my Golf (MK6), really hard to find a used one and cost $400 for a new one.

I am looking at buying used MK5 shelf. I found on internet someone mention that it will fit, but when I call up VW and a VW used part dealer to confirm, they said MK5 and MK6 use different parts.

Can anyone happen to have a MK5 and MK6 golf check this for me? or anyone done this before?

    Thanks

I have a mk5 parcel shelf here in the warehouse that we can test fit if you like?
Where in melbourne are you? We are located in springvale

The interior colours on some of the mk6 parts are a bit different from memory.

I have one in my Mk 6 (left the original on top of the car and drove off, had to go round the block to retrieve it, which took about 3 minutes and by the time I got back it was gone.)

The only difference is the material used in the hinges and the two cords — it's a drop-in fit.

Oh this deserves a thread of its own! I once left my wallet and iPhone on the roof of the car and drove off to work.. only to have it all handed into the local police untouched and undamaged miraculously

Remember the Nissan Pulsar Q....had a black rubber "spoiler". My sister once left her house keys resting on it.....drove to work, left it at work all day and got home.....they will still there!
