  • Electric Folding Mirrors - How to retrofit?

    Hi,

Has anyone stumbled across a guides/instructions to retrofit the electric folding mirrors for the MK6? I have been googled and haven't had much luck. Ebay have a few second hand electric mirrors in the UK but would like to know what else would be needed of the install. So part numbers/descriptions etc would be cool.

Sorry if this has already been discussed..but I did do an advanced search a few times on here.

    Cheers,

I used to feel sorry for you guys who hadn't read your manuals.
These days, I just think it's funny. I can't believe how many people here are missing out on cool features, or have even damaged their cars and had to pay for things to be fixed, simply because they're too much of a "man" or whatever to read the owners manual

I don't have this option on my vehicle either. Would be interested in this too if anyone has further information.

                          Hi All,
Back on track regarding the folding mirrors.
Steve Budak and I have been discussing this and he believes that he can do it, last time I spoke to steve, he had imported the parts as a test and was going to install it for a trial. Steve is the proprietor of Volkstronic and is really helpful.

Sounds good man.. Please let us know how he goes.. It’d be a big job I imagine.. A lot of wiring involved.. What parts did he import?

I spoke to Euro Autotech yesterday.. I was told the coin for the parts + labour wouldn’t be worth it (“thousands” was the word he used – It can be done however) so obviously DIY would be the way to go if you were really keen.

I read the manual before I bought the car and didn't notice the sliding armrest (not that I've checked it or really have a use for it). I'm just jealous that his TSI has paddle shifters
