I seem to remember rumours of an R36 Twin turbo 4wd Scirrooco R... now that would be some sort of beast...

126mph is a huge trap for a AWD car, what was your 60' time? With 126mph you could crack into 11 sec barrier I would imagine

They're some great numbers, but, the straight at Eastern Creek is very down hill. Is there enough level road to do a quater mile?

Not having a dig, just asking.

For the purpose of what was being done it isn't relative as they are comparing Tuned cars against each other... but they used to run drags from there before... I think the start line was at the end of the straight (there is an extension there) and they would then be almost going uphill.
I am pretty sure they stopped after a guy was killed in a V8 powered Alpha on his return run when the throttle jammed and he hit the concrete barriers..

Yes, the drags used to run from turn 1 back to turn 12 so it was uphill. The guy that was killed was at a top speed event where they came out of turn 12 and tried to hit the highest speed they could before having to brake for turn 1. For whatever reason he went straight on into the barriers. The top speed event never ran again but they continued to run the drags their till WSID opened.

Then as long as they are using the same section of track that makes AP's Golf ET and trap speed even more impressive...

I read somewhere that the R36 Twin turbo is capable of 600 plus neddies.

Well the Youtube link above says 700.. Yep, that is radical

We actually ran up hill for the drags.

That makes the figures even more impressive AP. Was "the Dude" involved this year or was Steven Richards assisting Luffy?
Hopefully there is video floating around soon, much like last year.

This engine is capable of 900hp @ 2.25bar!!
I'm only running 1.35bar giving me a lazy 650hp. This engine runs twin GT28rs and the motor for the scirocco R will run twin GT3071rs!
Cause we ran uphill I will be taking the R36 Twin turbo back to wsid to try for a 10sec pass.. Mph should be up around 130mph.

All that grunt and I guess it is still streetable.. well as streetable as 650 hp in a golf can be...
It is so good to see these sort of Custom machines being done here. There are plenty of stories from Europe so it is very refreshing to find a Company (City Performance) and owners like AP that go down this track.

Hopefully I can sit in a Scirocco R tomorrow (heading to Melb on an early flight) so I can make up my mind on ordering one...I will never have the $$ to do what AP does or has done...but I can at least try to make mine a little bit individual (when I get it).

                                AP, u got my respect...
great to see someone like you with an altitude for passion in cars instead of competing with people...
love to see your build thread but definitely its your choice.
