Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Smashed fog light

well ive had my mk6 118TSI For a few weeks now, and got a stone chip, through my front drivers side fog light
Ive got a quote for a new one for like $150 from Volkswagen, which i thought yeah ill just get it,
Ive checked some sites out including ebay and found you can get both lamps with postage for $100.

Ive also emailed a supplier who didnt get back to me, anyone know of other places, or aftermarket ones that can be fitted?
I saw a few that look like they have a actual lense in the light like a projector style, but couldnt find the actual part number

As long as it is the same quality or the same fog light, you're winning.
If not, you would have wasted $100.

well thats why i spent a lot of money to get the replacement light for VW so it should look the same as the other light, I was worried about buying a single aftermarket light off ebay in case its lens reflector bit in the light looks different

I'm pretty sure they're just clipped in, you may need to remove the trim that surrounds it first.
