  • Fault code P261A and exhaust light and ideas

I've searched the forums and I can't find anything relating to fault code P261A.
My exhaust warning light is on so I connected my phone to the OBD2 port and fault code P261A is recorded.

    Fault Code: P261A
    Category: Powertrain
Definition: Coolant Pump "B" Control Circuit/Open

Can anyone tell me how this relates to the exhaust warning fault light.
My car is booked in but I can pretty much say with confidence that VW will not repair the fault they'll just clear the fault code and exhaust light.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The "Exhaust warning light" flashes up pretty much when any permanent code is stored - not exactly exhaust related. Unplug your air mass meter - or temp sender & same light comes up.

There is a bulletin out on this.

It is rectified by a replacement auxillary coolant pump.

The bulletin is pretty self-explainatory for this one.

If that fault code is logged, replace the auxillary coolant pump.

Assuming your car is still in warranty, your dealer will take care of the situation for you.
