Ducoscratch rear bumper protection - as good as OEM?

Hey all. I am about to order the OEM bumber protection strip from overseas, but just saw these ones:

I note that these ones are said to be removable. I am wondering if anyone has installed and how they would compare to the OEM version.

There's only $5-10 difference delivered so am leaning towards OEM...

Just call a local Ducoscratch dealer (or 3M Paint Protection Film, or Ventureshield Stonegard, all practically the same stuff) and get some off-cuts from one of their rolls. You only need about 10cm to do the job... cost ya next to nothing. Of course, you'd need to cut it to shape (not too hard, just leave the backing on and use scissors or whatever).

There is very little difference between that and the OEM version, although there are a few different thicknesses in films such as .3mm and .6mm etc. I'm not sure what thickness the OEM film is, and that site doesn't say the thickness they're offering either.

I have the ducoscratch one and it's fine, it's the 3M venture film and it fits well and still looks good after 3 years. I'm not sure I'd cut it yourself as Corey suggested as you'd never get the finish as good as one computer cut from a template like the ducoscratch protector. The VW may be slightly different in shape but will use similar film.

Neither protects the edge of the bumper however which is where you are most likely to damage it if you're not careful. For this you need to use a stainless steel protector that wraps over the edge, you wouldn't be able to get the film to wrap over that edge unless you did it in multiple pieces.

Mine wraps over the edge of the rear bumper.
