  • Strange GTI Acceleration feel

Some back ground - I previously had a MK5 GTI DSG for 4years and my wife has a 2T EOS DSG Same engine as the GTI.
I've now got a MK6 GTI DSG with about 4,000km.
It's hard to describe but the acceleration of the car feels strange compared to my previous GTI.
It sort of feels laggy and non-linear and there's more vibration under load than I remember with my previous GTI.
I know about the 2.5k "GTI death rattle" which I've also got but it's not just this although it doesn't help.
Yes I also know it's a completely different engine to the previous car - I have accidently opened the bonnet.
I'm not sure if it's a combination of stiff engine, stiff accelerator pedal or what but it doesn't feel quite right.
I'm mostly talking about normal accelerating from lights not anything hard.
    Anyone else notice this?

I haven't driven a Mk5 GTI but my Mk6 only feels laggy when I'm driving with economy in mind. The DSG will rarely let the engine rev past 2000rpm unless I put my foot down a bit more. Maybe the DSG is set up to change gears earlier than that of the Mk5? I know that turbo comes on strong once past 2000rpms.

Is this an issue in S mode as well as D?

That's not normal on either count, you need to get it looked at.
