hmmmm, I think I'd prefer to have a bit more time of trouble free motoring before I tinker with it - The car was only functioning for 24 hours!

EPC & ESP Lights on Golf R

Halalooya. My R came up with the same message intermittently. Frustrating as all hell. Off to APR to play it safe, have it reflashed and then to VW. Can't understand why this is such a big issue on the warranty side? thanks to all the blogs on this, I will steer the techo's in the direction of the throttle assembly

Flashing is a big issue regarding wty due to it not being certified by VW. if your changing anything from factory it will not be covered,
If you chose to flash ECU you should be prepared to pay for anything that may go wrong with the driveline thats the risk you take. No need to re flash either as the ECU will record attempted or successful Flash's in memory. Not having a go at you but you shouldn't presume your vehicle has the same issue as orkers and expect to fool a VW tech into following your presumed diagnosis.

Well the EPC light came on yet again, followed by the Catalytic Converter light and then the exclamation mark...go straight to the dealer, do not pass GO. The guys at VW O'Connor did a good job to diagnose there is a problem with the wiring loom and some connectivity problem hae evolved on the R golf. Problem is, there is an alert out from VAG, warning the techo's if they see this series of lights. Wouldn't it he nice if we received the same alerts as owners?
So now I'm waiting for a new section of harness to replace and all is good. Back to APR and reinstall their goods. Happy now, but better when the new bits are fitted.

Flash status cant be reset.
Ive had a customer with a bench flashed R and who did it was rough as guts, lets just say its costing them an ECU and a few other things, due to customer not being honest with us bout the tune. I wont name the company that did it though.
