Folks,
Tried searching, and could not see a similar thread. This is a question of curiosity, rather than complaint.
Obviously Volkswagen like most car manufacturers use a plethora of parts suppliers, and the country of origin can be really eclectic. I had to change a rear turn globe yesterday, and noticed the globe was a Toshiba ( no country of origin visible). The rear tail light unit was made by Hella, and was manufactured in Slovakia. This got me thinking about all the different countries which source parts for the Mk6.
Without any effort I have observed :-
Tailights - Slovakia
Shock Absorbers - Spain ( these are for the ACC cars)
Wheels - Poland ( Detroits I think made by Ronal)
Speakers (Woofers) - Belgium
Speakers (Tweeters) - China
Tyres - Germany (Dunlop Sport MAXX GT)
Can you add to the list ?
