Park Assist Issues / Problems

Push the Park Assist Button once it will give you left hand side, push it a second time it will give you right hand side

so this must have changed with software as i m sure i only had to press it once and it would do a detect which side i am doing a park or was it always like this?

Actually from my experience, by default it's the passengers side. To have it scan on the drivers side, you need to turn you signal indicators to the drivers side and then park assist will change it's scan to the right. (It's in the user manual).

it does make sense to be passengers side, by default....but cant recall if i placed an indicator when i used to park...will pay more attention tonight to try it before driving it back to the VW service....

From my understanding Oz delivered park assist should only be able to park on the passenger's side, as is the case with my car. They may have delivered the car with a wrong software when you first picked it up. As for DRLs you can turn it on via the stalks. Refer to you manual.

I thought the DRL's were set on/off by the MFD settings menu?

Yep thats exactly how it works as standard.

It seems that the confusion here is that the operation of it has changed along the way.

thanks all it seems now indicator has to be used for the car to scan driver's side otherwise it wont park. thanks all problem solved!

I thought only the overseas models have PA on both sides, have to go and play around with it some more

I thought the DRL's were set on/off by the MFD settings menu?

Only the newer cars with the new MFD software has that option. We have to use the stalks to turn it on/off.
