Golf R 1/4 mile times - Repost

This is a repost from the 1/4 mile times I posted the other week before the server crash. As there seems to be a lot of talk about dyno this dyno that, mods etc, you can use this thread to post your Golf R 1/4 mile times, don't forget to add your mods so we can all compare

I had 6 runs on that day, conditions were:
Temperature: 33 degrees
Track Temp: 50 degrees (as stated at eastern creek)
Tyre pressure: 40 PSI on all runs except the last one which was 35 PSI

This was also my first time on the 1/4 mile with any car (noob)

My times are highlighted in yellow

My Mods:
* Stage 1 APR tune
* APR Carbonio intake

1st run: Launch control
2nd run: Manual mode




3rd run: No launch control
4th run: No launch control



5th run: Launch control
6th run: Launch control




It would be interesting to get some 1/4 mile comparisons on the stage 2 tunes from other owners !!!

Curious how many km's did your car have before you did the stage 1 & APR Carbonio intake? I'm tempted on doing this upgrade eventually..

Hey nice pics! And tbh 13.78 is pretty good considering you cant launch the car properly with DSG. If you snapped a launch at 4500 rpm I reckon you'd be seeing 13.3's even!

I had the APR stage 1 done at 4000kms, carbonio around 10,000kms somewhere. I've done around 13,000 kms so far in the car.

I was launching at 2500-3000rpms, the car didn't let me go any higher if I recall correctly, the needle just hangs about this mark.

Interesting in the printouts you have displayed, that another car (but a GTI not an R) matched your 1/4 mile times - any idea of the spec of that car ?

considering mk6 gti dsg with k04 can do 12.Xsec/116mph, the golf r can get close to that too!

That GTI hit 101mph. Good indication that its making healthy power.

Is that GTI the black MkV in the photos you posted above - that appears to be a Pirelli? You'd expect good times from a K04 with APR Stage 1.

DSG really lets down the 0-60 ft time's... An AWD car with same power and a good hard proper launch should be seeing 1.8-1.9

Averages for me are 2.1 and it looks like yours are around that same area as well.
I have a MKV R32 and have ran a 14.1@99MPH, I know I can do 13's. I'd love to launch the fuck out of it for one "one hit wonder" run.
This was also done mid QLD hot/humid summer.

Try Manual mode WITH Launch control, Shift around 5900-6K. I think that would be the best run out of it.

Here's mine from the other night at Perth Motorplex, was 28 degrees so pretty warm and only got 2500kms up on the R. However was a lot of fun and will do another run when she's properly run in. The only thing I need to get used to is the Launch Control, with the large delay it destroys your reaction times!

On a side note I beat the previous Gen M3 on my quickest run (run 3) btw I'm Chris (T32) and the R is completely stock!

What were the other cars? The second run was interesting - even though the other guy's reaction time was faster, you were quicker to 60, 330, and 660 feet. But then his car had more legs and pipped you at the 1000 and then to the line.
