As far as Revo and GIAC go they can always send over a tune/hand controller so we can do a larger comparison. I am not paying APR a cent for the tune which is why I am going to do it in the first place plus I am curious to see the difference between the APR and bluefin tunes.

As for GIAC here in Perth I can't say I have ever seen marks workshop which is all the way out in york run any VW, Audio, BMW or Porsche at any of the car events but I have seen him run many of his customers cars which have always been Commodores and Fords. Probably not the best choice of dealers to be promoting the product.

Does anyone know who does REVO in Perth?

It would seem that the GIAC tune isn't an option for R owners? Checked their website and nada!

i'd have thought it would be the same / similar as tuning an S3, like fuzion's. iirc, at the last melbourne dyno day, there was a mk5 with a giac ''extreme tune'', which posted the highest wheel kw out of all the cars there, if i remember properly from the posts on here.

No doubt they would be similar but it's still a different car - For example the intercooler, ECU and probably other components too are specific to the R - I just wouldn't see it working?

I guess we'll find out when the US finally get the R and GIAC come out with something specific.....

The R/S3/TT-S are practically identical. Sure, the intercooler is difference sizes between them, but yeah. Other manufacturers use the same ECU on the three cars.

I just sniffed around the APR website and found that the stage 1 tune on all 3 vehicles have identical kw/nm figures!

I didn't realise just how IDENTICAL they were! Thanks Cozza!

Would be an interesting comparison, thanks

Has anyone run the same Golf R / S3 (same AWD system essential) on the same dyno in same conditions other than FWD and AWD to give a standard difference between say Haldex 4 AWD/FWD curves?

I'm quite keen for vendors/tuners to express a comment...if they are chased away because of political correctness then these forums will only ever be loaded with BS internet experts and therefore valueless.

I interperet 'no naming' comments as a polite (already too PC) alert to investigate further, not slaging...IMO.
Open discussion in this day and age would be refreshing. Don't fancy the chances with the legal vultures circulating, eh?

                        We have, several times.

Makes SFA difference with a Haldex car (as long as ESP intervention is not a factor). Its a bit like the myth "lighter wheels increase HP". They don't, but they will help you accelerate faster.

love it: Won't make much difference to most though, I suppose...
SFA must be a new power metric (sic)???
