There are some pictures of the Golf Blue-e motion with Xenons and LED DRL which will mostly be the same LED DRL as the GTI/GTD models.
I wonder how much would it cost to retrofit them....$3k? If only the LED strip could be added onto current Xenon housings.

I think those headlights with integrated DRLs look quite nice.

Funny how one of the fog lights is not working on that demo car.

That is indeed the cornering fog light function I believe.

I can't say I'm a fan - personally I think the R's separate LED strip looks neater and, ironically, less of an afterthought - despite it being a separate item.

Will reserve judgement until I've seen them in the flesh though.

Less of an afterthought, despite actually being an afterthought hahaha.

I like the new integrated set up. But only If the R got new lower set foggies in addition. The two led strips on the R together would look crap. But it isn't happening so no need to worry.

Integrated LEDs give the car an expensive look. The separate strip on the R has an aftermarket look.

Yeah new set if fog lamps for the R would be awesome! Too bad I bought mine too early..hopefully my R has the mute setting for the parking sensors.

Yeah thats why I said it seemed like an afterthought A la HSV. However Mercedes Benz do it with their E class and its not too bad, but yeah its much nicer when integrated into lights, then idiots won't assume you bought the strip from autobarn.

Depends on the car and implimentation. I might be biased but I think the R LED do look like they were meant to be there, plus they're not in your face.

I find the current HSV horrible and don't really like the new Q7 or A4 styles which have more LED than headlight IMO. They're just too obvious. I get the point of day time lights, but I think they should be a subtle feature of the front, not the standout.

Yeah the R's LEDs are neatly integrated into the front fascia. I'd prefer if they were whiter and brighter though. It just makes the R stand out more as the bodykit is very subtle. I guess I love the "look at me" style of the Audi DRLs.

+1 for the HSVs. They are so hideous. I'd take an SS over a HSV anytime!

This is why I prefer the Golf R LEDs to the new "integrated" design - I think it looks less like bling, and more like subtle class. The Golf doesn't lend itself to over-the-top styling cues IMO - it isn't an EVO, or an HSV.

Yeah I hate that trend. Side rant, DRL's aren't that useful in AU. I drove company cars with non LED ones for 5yrs and they never did anything for awareness on the road other than "your lights are on", thanks ****head!

Well said, if you're buying an R, it isn't to stand out in a crowd

The LED tail lights are REALLY attention grabbing though

Only to those who know. They're designed well enough that they don't scream mod or bling, so while I think they look fantastic, they tend not to attract too much attention in my experience.

The Golf looks so "pretty" with them. They look like eye lashes IMO lol!

                                MY11.5 differences in GTI

                                Hi Beetles,
I picked up my GTI today and was told that this is MY11.5. The sales dude mentioned that it had a new gear shift and a Coffee Break function (yet to know how this works). Are there any other significant differences?
