Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Getting my new (second hand) mk6 tomorrow and the first thing I'm going to do is remove accessories! Tow bar and tailor made sheep skin seat covers will be removed and sold, hopefully on this forum
Going to enjoy the car for a while and then perhaps go for a stage 1 tune and some lower springs / dampers. Considering going up from the standard 17's but haven't seen "the" wheels that I'd like yet.

Two things arrived together today, despite one coming from NZ (Superchip... would have got it from Australia, but I think our Aussie distributor is on an April holiday, when I went to order, it said something like "any orders between March blah and April blah will not be shipped till April 30".. or something like that) and one from Victoria.
Fitted the dead pedals while the Bluefin was first reading ecu, then later programming (only took about 20 mins each operation, and 15 min wait for Superchip's UK site to message me to download modded image).
Car feels awesome now, took it for a blast up Pacific Highway from Mooney Mooney back,a definite big improvement.Last edited by tonymy01; 11-04-2012, 12:34 AM. Reason: why is it such a pain to share a lousy photo using picassa or google+ on my Android phone, google,i need a direct url to the lousy photo, obtainable via my phone!---

Fixed, but what a pain.. Had to use Dolphin Web browser and view my picasa page as desktop, then could long click image to get direct URL to then post here, there has got to be an easier way in Android, surely? I tried 3 different picasa apps and two different google+ apps, none seen to give the simple functionality of providing a direct URL to the image, and as you saw, the URL for sharing they did give was dependent on your own account! All the apps are as feature useless as the mobile Web version---

Web version is easy enough for me, only thing I've tried to do on my phone is upload camera shots to Picasa, pretty easy too.

The upload is the easy bit, all apps and even the native Samsung interface are capable of that, the challenge is to find a way of getting direct URL to provide here, no apps do itI tend to leave my PC off these days and do everything from the phone (except flash my ecu
) anyway,I won't pollute the thread any more..
The dead pedals require a little drilling on the stock plastic footrest for the lhs one (after taking out footrest held in with two stubborn clips), rhs uses dodgy double sided tape.
Something else I got & fitted last week (the right hand one in this photo is a new passenger side mirror, left hand one is original mirror):
It is subtly different to original on the rear part of the mirror, but still has the heater element connections (pointless really for us, although I did heatshrink on one cable to one of the connectors as they criss-cross on the after market one, which could have possibly meant shorting if I didn't do it) and fits fine, the main difference and why I purchased it is it has the blind spot section on the side (I was expecting it to be zoomed out a bit more, but on studying side by side, realised the stock one actually is one of those "objects are larger than they appear" type mirrors, but without the blind spot bit the drivers side one has).
Came from UK (took a few weeks).Last edited by tonymy01; 11-04-2012, 12:32 AM.---
